"...She showed me that no matter where I am I can always tune into my home frequency to reset and refresh for more thoughtful decisions. …As a result of connecting with [her] I've noticed that my responses to my child have softened. I now understand that I can control how I choose to react and deal with certain situations and circumstances. …I feel more able to explore myself with guidance on levels I wouldn’t have otherwise."

"This book is golden. As a mother of a son approaching middle school homeschooling has been on my mind quite frequently and this tome addresses  many of my questions and concerns. From socialization to my personality fit, so many areas are covered! And the resources! Man!!! They are so spot on and many of them were free at that!"

"Loved this book. It’s authentic and honest. It’s thought-provoking and encouraging. It’s well-organized and offers helpful answers to common questions about educating our children and respecting our own inner voice. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking for more freedom in designing their homeschool/unschool lifestyle.”

"It is a transcendent read; that very specific thing I have been looking for, but not been able to even name, because it hasn't existed. Yol[o]nda's language is very introspectively thought-provoking, and challenges our nonchalance towards the enigma that is human existence and awareness. She takes you by the hand and lets you know that its okay, ... you've not been set up to fail. Trust yourself, and just be who you are, because your child has been placed in your care to receive that exact thing you have. And you do have it.

Thank you Mama Jones."

"I feel like I've been reset."

"This book is amazing. When I pulled my daughter out of school to homeschool her, it felt a bit like jumping off a cliff. This book was my saving grace. It soothed my soul by answering all the various questions I had swirling around in my head. I could almost hear Yolanda’s voice through her writing saying, “You’ve got this!” To date, it’s been the most helpful & empowering resource I’ve come across. My favorite quote: “Curricula can be as rigid or as fluid as suits you, your child and/or your life style. Be open and expectant of it to change with the seasons, with your needs, and with your child’s needs.” The time spent with these little ones is so precious as we prepare them for the world & I know I’ll be using this book as a reference for many years to come."

"Taking the first steps into breaking many toxic generationally accepted norms, I found this book more than helpful. A reminder to check myself and move mindfully in the way I chose to guide my home."

"I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book is written in a very conversational tone. I especially liked the section "You Are A Curriculum"; as a temporary stay at home mother (and as a parent in general) to a now 7-month old girl, it made me really consider my perspective on the role I am playing now and will continue to play in her life. In another section, the idea of balancing the deliberate time we spend with our children and the time we have for ourselves as parents rang loud and clear.

Great read on a necessary topic!"
